Can anyone tell me why the prices for water and sewer use is so widely different between the Town of Laplata and the rest of Charles County for example
Rates are per 1,000 gallons. Consumption is measured in Gallons Per Quarter (gpq).
Customers on the lowest tier of consumption up to 15,600 gpq will be charged 2.18 for water and 6.23 for sewer.
Customers over 15,600 up to 100,000 gpq will be charged 2.18 for water and 6.23 for sewer for the first 15,600 gpq and 2.44 for water and 6.98 for sewer for anything over 15, 600 gpq. up to 100,001 gpq.
While Charles County charges a rate of 2.65 per 1,000 gallons for water and only 4.95 per 1,000 gallons for sewer? At the highest rate that is over $2.00 PER 1,000 gallons for sewer for the more heavily populated area of the county. ANd a late fee of 10% of your bill if you are one day late. I mean not everyone gets paid on Fridays, or weekly for that matter.
What I want to know is WHY!
Why is it so much more expensive to live in the Town Of Laplata than in the rest of the county.
I find this to be very unfair to the residents of Laplata.
